Educational Approach & Programmes

At Helping Hand, we strongly believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the best care, education and opportunities to thrive. To support this belief, we create training programmes that are customized to support each student’s strengths and weaknesses. Each programme that we offer focuses on cognitive, social, emotional and vocational development in students, by providing them with self-help skills and autonomy.

Programme Description

Paper Bags Making

The Paper Bag Making programme teaches students activities like cutting, folding and assembling, where there is great focus on techniques that promote hand-eye coordination, which helps instill patience in them. Students are encouraged to contribute to vocational projects, and are empowered to be financially independent through this programme. Making paper bags promotes constructive craftsmanship that gives students a sense of success through their useful projects, and artistic craftsmanship that boosts students’ creativity and imagination.

At Helping Hand, we employ various specialized teaching techniques to suit multiple learning styles. Our training methods help students to become independent, improve comprehension levels and socialize, thus maintaining a perfect balance of professionalism and fun.

Individualized Instruction

Every child embarks on an individualized learning journey that addresses their strengths, challenges, and learning speed. Educators adjust lessons based on continuous assessments, promoting steady progress. This individualized learning motivates self-learning and helps students to understand the content better.

Play-Based Learning

Students learn through interactive games, role-playing, and storytelling, which make the learning and growth process fun and playful. This method encourages social bonding, enhances communication, promotes emotional expression and aids problem solving and cognitive skills

Structured Routines

A daily schedule creates a sense of safety and security for children. These routines include visual schedules, step-by-step instructions, and structured transitions that promote greater focus, lower anxiety levels, and greater self-regulation and independence in task completion.

Visual Aids and Assistive Technology

Flash cards, pictorial schedules and digital learning devices aid in improving comprehension and communication. The technological learning trends that assist children with speech and processing difficulties include speech-to-text software and alternative communication devices.

Sensory Integration Techniques

Children with processing challenges find sensory-based techniques useful in being engaged with their environment. Activities like tactile play, deep-pressure exercises, music therapy, and movement activities promote focus, coordination, and emotional regulation, setting up a learning environment conducive to comfort.

Hands-On Activities

Hands-on activities such as gardening, cooking, and crafting aid in the development of children’s motor skills and problem-solving. Through actual applications, they develop skills related to important areas of life, learn independence, and are more confident in themselves when they are involved in more real world tasks.
